Farride 8 and the BMW club of NSW Far cairn rally.

Friday the 12th of September 2008 I hit the road just after 12 noon heading out of Brisbane and onto the Gate way motor way. Through the Tolls and out onto the Warrego hwy and west to Toowoomba. Still heading west now on the Gore Hwy and on to Goondiwindi. South now and on the Newell Hwy and passing through Moree Then Narrabri. The sun is well gone as I head in to Coonabarabran but the local boys in blue are working the roads for law breakers. I have no need for speed and pass through at the posted speed of 50 kmph. I stop for cash at the bank to recharge my wallet. I notice a bike behind me and soon find out its Wayne on his V-Strom also on the Farride. Wayne chose the local pub to bed down but I continued onto a way side stop just out of town to throw down the swag and catch a few hours sleep. Up early and off down the Newell Hwy again to have the sun rise behind me as I head down off the range onto the plains below. Its hard to keep one eye on the road when the scenery is this good. Okay Now onto Gilgandra and west on the Oxley Hwy to Nevertie. The last 60km on a very changeable country road which I drop my speed back to about 80kmph and suck up the visual candy. You see I'm 3 hours early and can take my time. Head into Tottenham at 9 am for the best pie I've had for sometime.

So I park the bike at the Tottenham Hotel and have a look around the place. Seems like no time and bikes start to roll into town and gather around the pub.

We all start to gather in the Farriders dinning area and some good food and conversation was had.

All to soon and lunch is over with many riders head off to finish rides and IBA rides. A good number of us then head off to the rally.

Cold drinks and conversation are entered into well into the night. With more cold liquid consumed.

About midnight a storm come through and dropped some rain and put on a light show but all was good. BUT later about three o'clock a new storm come through and by this time the ground was soft and the center stand on the FJ started to sink and over she goes. DAMAGE bugger broken mirror thats going to cost. and it did.
