The Rose Garden (1845) reprinted 1992

Translations from the Persian of Sadie of Shiraz. In the 1845 editions of Lang's newspaper The Mofussilite he began to publish a series of poems translated by him from the Persian Court Poet Sadi of Shiraz. Lang was a brilliant linguist and in India this facility with languages was a valuable asset. The poems are philosophical mainly about man's condition in life and his relations with kings and women
